Arriving to Brisbane, Australia

After 9 hours of trip from Tainan to Brisbane, finally we arrived to Brisbane, Australia. Unfortunately, I could not sleep on the plane. Now I feel sleeping and I am so tired. We have to pass the immigration and get out luggage. Now it is the time for us to leave the luggage picking area to the outside world. Berry from Nudge International College is waiting for us over there. The driver Glan came also to pick up us, too.

We had a lot of problems with immigration because the travel agency did everything for us and we supposed to have to do the all the forms by ourselves. We got so many problem with that. I was in the immigration counter for 20 minutes. It is so ridicules. Now, I know next time what I have to do next time.We all arrived safely to Brisbane and all students have their own luggage, too. Berry was outside and waiting for us to pick up to the College. We are so excited to see Brisbane.

Nudgee International College

This is our first day of arrival to Brisbane, Australia. Even we are tired, they do not want to take a rest and there's so much things to do after it. Students had their placement tests. They had to write an essay introducing Taiwan. I think all of them did a pretty good job.

In the afternoon, Berry were introducing us about Nudge campus. It is the largest campus in all of Australia. The campus is huge and there's tennis court, swimming pool, golf clubs, running area, football field, beautiful and huge church and more. It is quite a lot to see over here. The dorms are so great with beautiful buildings.

Nudge is well known junior and high school. They have total of 1,500 students, 500 students live in the dorms and the others come to school everyday. The year round tuition is $12,000 Euro. It is extremely expensive here compared students at Sheng-Kung Girls high school.

Meeting My Homestay Family

Each students will have their homestays. It is time for us to meet our homestay parents and the place to stay for three weeks. Stephen came to pick up, we met him at the Nudgee College. Berry introduced to him and he was ready to drop us to his house. After arriving to his house, his cousin Leomi was there. She just came from Sydney, Australia to visit them. At that time, we did not meet Barbara, Stephen wife because she had to work that evening.

My homestay is only one floor home very modern house from outside and very nice and clean from inside. It has a bathroom, diving room, living room, four bedrooms and kitchen. It is the house of my dream, but in Tainan, Taiwan is hard to find houses like that. My room has everything that I need, I have a desk and a very soft bed to sleep. I am very happy with my place of stay.Stephen prepared our dinner. It was great. Vicky is a vegetarian and he had a vegetarian food for her. I was so tired but it was nice to know that the place I am staying is clean and pleasant. I had a great dinner and it was time for me to take shower and go to bed.

Departure to Brisbane

Today, we are going to departure to Brisbane. We are going to meet at the park closer to Sheng-Kung. I went to pick up Vicky, my partner of Brisbane trip. We arrived together at the park and we settle down the students and give them the red ribbon to put on the top of their luggages that way will be easy to recognize our group's luggages.

Alan, my son came to say goodbye to me. He was so cute and he told me to take care of myself. Getting our group together at 3:30 P.M. and we all are waiting for the bus and we went to the airport. We left the bus, the teacher started to check the seats. If you did not check anything, one student forget her camera over there. The bus driver left us into the national login area. At that moment, we had to transfer into the international login area.

After we all are checked in, it is the time for us to go inside and take our plane. But before that we stopped at the coffee shop because some students got very hungry. During buying drinks and buying foods, one student got lost her passport. We are so afraid, and shocked, we do not know what to do at that time, we just went and find at the different seats we were at that time. Luckily, we found the passport, it was one big stone left in my heart. Before we get into the plane, I collected all the students' passport.

Now, it is the time for us to get into the plane. Everything it seems ok and students are so happy and calm now. Now, we as teachers can take a little bit of rest. We had to transfer out plane in Taipei. That was the easiest part and we took the another plane to Brisbane. We will need 8 hours for the trip. All students are tired and they are all sleeping. We teachers, need some sleep, too. I decided to watch some movies before I go to sleep on the plane.
